Bomb Shelter Construction Tips

Our Process

Our philosophy and business procedures work hand in hand as we believe our clients confidentiality is first and foremost due to the nature of the product and we also share the belief the client is always right. This differentiates us from other shelter companies. We accomplish this through our thorough business procedures, insuring a complete understanding between our clients and Disaster Bunkers.

The following is a step by step procedure schedule on constructing your shelter:

  1. We do a complete on site evaluation of the proposed area where the shelter is to be built. This service is provided free of charge within a radius of   100  miles of our home office in Sand Point Idaho. If the area is outside of this radius please contact us for the fee.

What is the purpose of a site evaluation? The reason a site evaluation is necessary is to accomplish the following:

    1. The feasibility of the shelter in the clients preferred location.
    2. The existing soil conditions, which includes checking the type of soil you have. Is it expansive, is it stable , is there rock, how high or low are the water tables? These factors help determine how we custom design and reinforce your underground shelter.
    3. The on site grades, are we building on a slope or a flat terrain?
    4. Determining the best way to build your shelter to insure complete secrecy while the shelter is being built.
    5. Above ground drainage, determining how the water will drain away from the area above your shelter.
    6. Determine the proper size and type ofthe shelter to accommodate the anticipated occupancy load.
    7. At this time the client is able to select the many options we have available.

At this point we are able to completely custom design your shelter to suit your needs and budget as well as develop a construction time schedule based on the above data.

  1. We give you a complete cost and if it is acceptable to the client a contract  agreement is signed between Disaster Bunkers and the owner.
  2. We custom design your shelter, and schedule our crew of  home  based professional shelter constructors to arrive at your site at a specific time. The shelter material list is scheduled for delivery at the time our construction team arrives.
  3. At this point we start the construction of your shelter and it is completed as per the specified construction schedule.
